Exelon Sustainable Communities Grants for Municipalities and Nonprofits

Sustainable Maryland is pleased to announce two grant opportunities available this spring to support local environmental and resilience initiatives:


Pepco Sustainable Communities Grants

Now in its fourth year, Sustainable Maryland is continuing to administer these grants for municipalities and nonprofits within the Pepco service area, which includes Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and Washington, DC.

Grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 are available for projects focused on Environmental Stewardship and Community Resilience, with a total of $125,000 in available funding for 2025.

Delmarva Power Sustainable Communities Grants – New in 2025!

We’re excited to announce that Sustainable Maryland will now also manage the Delmarva Power Sustainable Communities Grants.

Municipalities and nonprofits located within the Delmarva Power service area—including parts of Maryland's Eastern Shore, Cecil and Harford Counties, and the state of Delaware—are eligible to apply.

Grants between $10,000 and $15,000 are available for Environmental Stewardship and Community Resilience initiatives, with $45,000 in total funding available this year.
