Municipal Achievement Awards: One Week Left to Enter!

Has your municipality created a program, policy or service that has positively impacted your community? Do you believe your city/town has implemented an innovative best practice or policy?  Then consider submitting it for an MML Municipal Achievement Award. Only one week remains to submit your entry!

The Municipal Achievement Awards are awarded annually to cities and towns that have successfully implemented policies and programs that advance good governance and the well-being of our communities.  Submissions will be accepted through September 25 at 12 noon. Recipients will be honored during the Excellence in Leadership Fall Conference, taking place November 6-8 in Cambridge.

To encourage submissions from municipalities of all sizes and capacities the awards criteria has changed and is now based on policies and programs from the following areas of governance:

  • Community Engagement
  • Sustainability
  • Diversity/Equity/Inclusion
  • E-Government

 

Submission Guidelines 

Achievement Award submissions must include (a) project/program description and name of municipality, (b) how it meets award category requirements, (c) what makes it a best practice, (d) how results are measured, and (e) how this best practice can be replicated in other municipalities. Photos, to be used in creating one-minute videos highlighting Award winners, must be included as part of each submission.  Failure to address these five requirements and/or include photos will disqualify your entry.

All award submissions must be sent to [email protected] as an attached PDF file and received by MML no later than 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Award Categories

Community Engagement 

  • Any service, activity or event that increases the connection between the municipality and its constituents 

 

Sustainability

  • Any policy or program that makes your municipality more resilient to climate change and/or improves the physical environment within and surrounding your community. 

 

Diversity/Equity/Inclusion  

  • Any policy or program that supports a diverse and inclusive community and/or enhances race equity. 

 

E-Government

  • Service delivery using information and communication technology
  • Service's objective should be to enhance the public's online experience with the municipality
