Founded in 1936, MML represents three special taxing districts and all of Maryland's 157 incorporated cities and towns. We are the only statewide organization composed solely of municipal officials and devoted to the amplification of all branches of municipal administration.

A voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan association controlled and maintained by city and town governments, MML engages and empowers all Maryland municipal elected officials and staff by ensuring that they have access to the advocacy, education and information they need to provide the highest level of service to the residents of Maryland’s cities and towns.

Annual State of the Municipality • Thursday, December 5, 2024
The Maryland Municipal League at the 2024 State of the Municipality. MML will be sharing the results of its 2024 annual independent research study which will take a closer look at the income, property, and sales and use taxes generated for the State within municipalities. This report will also discuss qualitative considerations that drive these fiscal impacts, including that municipalities are places where Marylanders want to work, live, and play. Join City of Frederick Mayor and MML President, Michael O’Connor; MML Chief Executive Officer Theresa Kuhns and Bill Jorch, Director, Public Policy and Research as we explore the results and look ahead to data driven revenue solutions to strengthen the state economic forecast
