$20,000 Grant Opportunity and Tech Assistance for Local Government
Interested in getting a tech worker for a temporary project in your municipality?
The Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation has some exciting news about their Maryland Corps/Service Year Option program. The program seeks to place 18-24 year old high school graduates in full time 9.5 month roles at host organizations with the state providing a grant up to $20,000 to help cover wages.
If your municipality has an IT department seeking to bring in early career talent for roles like IT help desks, digital systems support, AI Tool roll adoption or more, this is a great low-barrier way.
The September 2026 cohort has many young Marylanders interested in tech roles and the team is actively looking for partners. To be considered, Partners have to submit a Host Site Partner application (for the $20,000 grant) by August 1, 2026, with a rolling deadline thereafter.
