Banner City/Town Contenders – Your Journey to the May 11 Deadline

Banner City/Town Contenders –  Your Journey to the May 11 Deadline

MML's Banner City/Town Program bestows formal recognition each year to cities and towns that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to MML programs and activities.  The program serves as a guidepost on how to make the most of your MML membership.

If a representative from your municipality attended the 2025 summer and fall conferences, conducted a Municipal Government Works (MGW) month activity, conducted a school visit (any age/any level), your journey continues for your Banner City/Town designation.

Work with your officials to stay in contention by completing the following criteria by May 11:

  • Attend half of your chapter's events/activities. Please note the early submission deadline for your upcoming chapter meetings. You cannot count any chapter meetings that take place after the deadline.
  • Check the list for opportunities to meet under Criteria 5 and make sure that you have completed one of them.

If you are one of the 79 municipalities listed (based on 2025 summer conference and leadership conference attendance), you are still in contention for your Banner City/Town designation:

Annapolis, Bel Air, Berlin, Berwyn Heights, Bladensburg, Boonsboro, Bowie, Brentwood, Brunswick, Burkittsville, Cambridge, Capitol Heights, Centreville, Charlestown, Cheverly, Church Hill, College Park, Colmar Manor, Cottage City, Crisfield, Cumberland, Denton, District Heights, Edmonston, Emmitsburg, Fairmount Heights, Forest Heights, Frederick, Friendsville, Frostburg, Gaithersburg, Galena, Glenarden, Grantsville, Greenbelt, Hagerstown, Hancock, Hampstead, Havre de Grace, Hebron, Hurlock, Hyattsville, Indian Head, Keedysville, La Plata, Laurel, Lonaconing, Middletown, Mount Airy, Mount Rainier, Mountain Lake Park, Myersville, New Carrollton, North Beach, North Brentwood, Oakland, Ocean City, Oxford, Pocomoke City, Poolesville, Port Deposit, Princess Anne, Ridgely, Rising Sun, Rock Hall, Rockville, Salisbury, Seat Pleasant, Smithsburg, Somerset, St. Michaels, Takoma Park, Taneytown, Thurmont, Union Bridge, University Park, Upper Marlboro, Walkersville, Westminster, Williamsport
