Time to Care Act Update Webinar

Bolton, a consulting firm in the areas of employee benefits and compensation, will host a webinar in the coming weeks with updates regarding the Maryland Time to Care Act (TTCA).  As employers who are subject to provisions of the TTCA, make sure you have the latest information on the law, including:

Key employer requirements under the Maryland Time to Care Act

  • Important decisions for employers
  • Status of Maryland Department of Labor (DOL) Regulations
  • Update on the Request for Proposal for private insurance options to provide the mandated benefits
  • Process for submitting to DOL a Declaration of Intent to opt out of the State Maryland Time to Care Act Plan
  • Broader administrative, financial and workforce issues for employers

There will also be information on a controversial provision in DOL’s Draft Regulations which requires employers, beginning in July 2025, to collect and hold employee and employer contributions for the State TCA Plan (equal to 0.90% of payroll), even if DOL has approved the employer’s Declaration of Intent to opt out of the State TCA Plan (meaning you will need to collect and hold employee/employer contributions beginning in July 2025, even if your intent is to offer an Equivalent Private Insurance Plan).

A date and time will be confirmed shortly and a separate link to register for the webinar will then be made available. Please be on the lookout for further details. For more information please contact Bill Jorch.
