[ARCHIVED] Strategies for Better Community Engagement

workshop.175.26006488_xl

Few topics generate greater interest among municipal leaders than how to better engage residents in the face of difficult community issues. Whether it's budgetary impacts on municipal services, a controversial new project or development, or concerns about policing, this 2.5 hour webinar will provide helpful strategies for improving participant recruitment, designing more effective public meetings, and achieving your municipality's community engagement goals. The training will also incorporate strategies for shifting from polarized debate to constructive dialogue.

The Community Engagement: Turning Conflict into Constructive Dialogue class qualifies for Academy for Excellence in Local Governance Elective credit and will take place on Thursday, January 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as a Zoom meeting. But "seating" is limited to ensure quality engagement among participants, so be sure to register early. The cost to register is $35 for MML members and $50 for non-members. You can register HERE. For more information, contact MML Director of Education Services Tom Reynolds at tomr@mdmunicipal.org.
