The best attended Learning Lab during this summer’s MML Virtual Conference was a session titled Strategies for Effective Citizen Engagement, and the most frequent comment in post-conference evaluations requested that this session be offered again as a full workshop with opportunities for participants to dive deeper into the material. Based upon this popular demand and a willingness on the part of the instructors to build a more expansive training, the Maryland Municipal League is pleased to announce a 2.5-hour webinar that will provide participants with strategies for improving participant recruitment, designing more effective public meetings, and tips for utilizing a range of tools to achieve your municipality’s citizen engagement goals. This training will also incorporate strategies for shifting from polarized debate to constructive dialogue.
The expanded Citizen Engagement: Turning Conflict into Constructive Dialogue class will take place on Thursday, October 15 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm as a Zoom meeting. But "seating" is limited to ensure quality engagement among participants, so be sure to register early. The cost to register is $35.
