[ARCHIVED] The Impact of COVID-19 on Local Budgets

COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on budgets at all levels of government. The costs of pandemic response and the impacts of the COVID recession have stressed local government budgets in particular. But how bad is this recession and long might it last? What exactly are the impacts on local budgets going to be? And how can local officials adapt?

The Academy for Excellence in Local Governance, a partnership of the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, the Maryland Municipal League, and the Maryland Association of Counties, is proud to offer a free webinar for local government officials exploring these questions, sponsored by the Local Government Insurance Trust. The webinar will feature Dr. Luke Spreen, an academic expert on public finance and budgeting at the School of Public Policy, and Holly Sun, Budget Director for Howard County, Maryland.

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 5th at 1:00 PM, and register here.
