[ARCHIVED] 5g Wireless Issue in the News

Last week, The Daily Record ran an editorial written by the Maryland Municipal League and the Maryland Association of Counties describing in detail the concerns expressed by local governments with regard to the permitting and siting of 5g wireless facilities in Maryland’s municipalities and counties. For the third year running, MML has chosen this as one of our priority legislative issues. The League, along with a coalition of community stakeholders, has defeated extremely harmful legislation introduced by the wireless industry in both 2018 and 2019. MML is in meetings now to determine whether legislation will again be introduced during the 2020 legislative session, and if so, who will introduce the legislation. The article can be found by clicking on XXXXX. Questions on the issue may be directed to MML staff member Bill Jorch at billj@mdmunicipal.org.
