The FY 2021 State Aid For Police Protection Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was released and is available online for annual submissions here. The online applications along with Forms 2 & 3 submissions are due by 3:00 pm by Friday, November 15, 2019.
The State Aid for Police Protection Fund is a formula-driven funding program used to supplement resources for police protection in our local communities. State funds provide additional revenue to support the operational costs of local and county police agencies. Funds are distributed based on a formula derived through a subdivision’s population, number of police officers in the agency, and the total jurisdictional taxable income. Annual fund distributions are calculated according to the previous year’s operations costs.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to significant updates/changes this year to the SAPP requirements, it is extremely important to download and that time to thoroughly read the revised NOFA instructions prior to completing an application and uploading the executed/signed forms and documents. Additionally, if you plan to be off during the upcoming holiday season, please be sure to either complete the required submissions in a timely fashion or assign the required tasks to someone to complete on your behalf.
