The League was recently informed that The Maryland Climate Leadership Academy still has openings for the upcoming training series at Hagerstown Community College. Please share with anyone at your local jurisdiction or community leaders that may be interested. There is a brief enrollment application that must be completed here.
The state is offering the training free to people working across a variety of sectors who live or work in Maryland to create a community of climate-smart leaders in the state. The trainings are led by the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) with a strong set of university, state, local, private and non-profit experts. The state is also covering the cost of Climate Change Professional Certification for local and state agency employees if those participants want to take that next step.
The Hagerstown Cohort dates are:
• Session #1: February 19-20, 2019
• Session #2: May 7-8, 2019
• Session #3: June 12-13, 2019
More cohorts will be announced in the future. If you have any questions, please contact Maia Davis, Senior Environmental Planner for the Metropolotian Washington Council of Governments at mdavis@mwcog.org or (202) 962-3227.
