Legislative Committee (LC) is responsible for providing feedback and taking positions on legislation with regard to its effect on municipalities. The LC is composed of elected and appointed municipal officials as well as a department representative. The Committee meets every seven to ten days during the General Assembly session and at other times during the year. No more than 21 appointments.
Conference Planning Committee (CPC) is responsible for serving as ambassadors to the annual Summer Conference, inclusive of exploring emerging issues for supporting municipal leadership development. The committee members promote attendance among municipal colleagues, and other opportunities throughout the year from word of mouth at chapter meetings to social media marketing. CPC meets typically in September, November and January and other times that the Chair may call. The committee reviews attendance and exhibitor evaluations, conference statistics, potential keynotes and convention information for ideas on how to continuously improve MML’s Summer Conference and make the event a must-do for participants. 15 seats total.
Engagement & Outreach Committee (EOC) is responsible for raising awareness about the role of municipal government, its officials and League resources. It coordinates a broad array of outreach and programs including the annual “If I Were Mayor…” Essay contest and Banner City/Town. The committee traditionally meets five to six times per year, typically the fourth Wednesday of the month beginning in August and ending in May and other times the Chair shall call. 15 seats total.
