This year, Maryland enacted House Bill 794, which created the Opioid Restitution Fund (ORF) Advisory Council. The mission of the council will be to provide guidance on the use of legal settlement funds received from prescription opioid manufacturers and distributors using certain metrics and criteria. There is one seat designated for a municipal official on this advisory council and MML is seeking interested individuals.
