[ARCHIVED] Go Purple for Municipal Government Works Month

purpleribbon2

In November, President Donnell Newton and MML wants Maryland’s cities and towns to Go Purple as they uplift services that municipalities and/or surrounding counties provides to fight substance abuse and support recovery.

Go Purple is the initiative of The Herren Project. It’s designed to increase awareness of addiction and empower good decision making. President Donnell Newton asks that we unify municipal voices to highlight services, programs and resources available to those suffering from drug addiction, with a special focus on opioid addiction.

The League will support our member municipalities in this effort by:

  • Taking the League’s look purple (catch our new look, November 1)
  • Launching www.mdmunicipal.org/GoPurpleMML , a special Go Purple page listing ways cities and towns can participate
  • Highlighting your Go Purple activities via our Twitter and Facebook accounts during MGW Wednesdays (November 7, 14 & 28)

Go Purple!
