Mental Health constitutes one of the more pressing issues facing our nation today. From our communities to municipal staff to elected officials, we are impacted by life strains that can be hard to discuss but take an increasing toll on our wellbeing. Accordingly, the League’s Hometown Emergency Preparedness Ad hoc Committee (HEPAC) has chosen mental health as one of its 2021-22 initiatives. This has resulted in both a summer conference workshop on Mental Health and Public Safety, taking place on Tuesday, June 14 from 2:15-3:00 at the Ocean City Convention Center and a new Mental Health Resources page on the MML website. The Resource page includes national and Maryland-based resources in areas ranging from suicide prevention to youth and children to law enforcement. Information is also broken down by state regions. If you have feedback or need more information, contact Tom Reynolds or Stacie Spragins.
