[ARCHIVED] First Sustainable Maryland Program Funding Bill Signed Into Law

 Senate Bill 14, which establishes a Sustainable Maryland Program Fund administered by the University of Maryland Environmental Finance Center, was signed into law by Governor Hogan on May 16, 2022. This new fund will help to expand and enhance Sustainable Maryland’s promotion and support of Maryland municipalities to achieve environmental, economic, and social sustainability. The fund will receive $500,000/year starting in FY24.

Sustainable Maryland is a certification program for municipalities in Maryland that want to go green, save money and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term. Sustainable Maryland is a collaborative effort between the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at the University of Maryland and the Maryland Municipal League
