MML’s legislative priority bill to remove the FY 2024 sunset provision and reinstate full funding of Highway User Revenues was heard in both Senate Budget & Taxation (B&T) and House Environment & Transportation (E&T) Committees last week.

An amended version of HB 1187 already received a favorable report from the E&T Committee. The amendments include funding increases for municipalities, though the amount is slightly reduced, and extends the sunset to FY 2028. It will be before the House for a vote on March 15, for the first time since 2018. The Senate B&T Committee will vote on SB 726 this week. Both bills are expected to cross over and be reconciled in Conference Committee.

Many thanks to every MML member who wrote letters, sent pictures, called their Delegation, and attended the hearings – your support is generating the momentum we need to get this over the finish line!
