[ARCHIVED] Call for Municipal Participation in Promotional Video

video camera157828077_xl

The League is developing five, one-minute promotional videos that will highlight the uniqueness of Maryland’s municipalities.  The videos will be designed to increase awareness of municipalities by focusing on what makes cities/towns an especially great place to live, work or visit.

The video will serve as a show piece to promote citizen awareness of and interest in the government closest to the state’s communities. It will be premiered within a special red-carpet event during the 2022 Maryland Municipal League Summer conference, an event that, as you know, draws thousands of municipal elected and appointed officials, leaders from state agencies, and members of Maryland’s General Assembly.

In Fall 2022, the videos will be promoted via a special Spotlight Maryland campaign and made available for distribution across both League and municipal platforms including municipal local access channels, websites, and social media.

The Spotlight Maryland video will give viewers a taste of Maryland’s incorporated cities and towns stretching from the Western Mountains to the Eastern Shore.

We need enthusiastic and willing municipalities interested in taking part. We're currently recruiting municipalities to apply to be among the selected participants. Does your municipality have that special something - anything from a historical fact, thriving industry within your city limits or simply a vibe that makes it an ideal place to highlight?

The Engagement and Outreach committee invites you to submit an application via the Spotlight Maryland Video Form. This short form is due by January 24. Selected cities/towns will be informed by January 30. MML staff will work with a point person from selected cities to assist in coordinating with CGI, MML's videographer partner.  Recording is tentatively set to take place between March and April.

We look forward to your submission. Please contact MML Engagement Director, Paula Chase Hyman via email at Paulah@mdmunicipal.org or at 410-295-9100 if you have questions.
