Committees
Executive Committee
The League’s Executive Committee provides direction to the executive director on administrative and budgetary matters that may require board input prior to a regular board of directors meeting. The committee also reviews the internal financial control procedures of the League and formulates the annual league budget for presentation to the full board.
Engagement and Outreach Committee
The Engagement and Outreach Committee (EOC) increases awareness of municipal government and League initiatives to both internal and external audiences. [Formerly known as the Communications Committee]
Conference Planning Committee
The Conference Planning Committee (CPC) is charged with formulating the theme for the annual summer conference, developing workshops and general sessions, and planning the conference social events. The committee members also promote conference attendance by speaking at chapter meetings. This committee meets at the League office on a Saturday in September, November and January and other times that the Chair may call. [Formerly known as the Convention Planning Committee]
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee (LC) is charged with determining the legislative program of the League and choosing those legislative proposals received from member chapters or municipalities, which best exemplify the goals of all League members. Additionally, the LC considers all introduced legislation in regard to its effect upon municipalities and takes positions to oppose or support such legislation.
Hometown Emergency Preparedness Ad Hoc Committee
The Hometown Emergency Preparedness Committee (HEPAC) is a special committee responsible for promoting emergency preparedness among the state’s cities and towns and for helping municipalities in developing programs for effective response in the event of emergency or disaster.
