MML Award Programs
Honoring City & Town Volunteer Programs MML’s newly created Achievement Awards will recognize municipal volunteer programs. In today’s challenging economy, effectively using volunteers is more important than ever as cities and towns struggle to continue providing services in an era of declining revenue. Some volunteer programs enhance the quality of life (i.e. beautification efforts, home visits to senior citizens, after school programs) while other programs utilize volunteers to assist the police, update the municipality’s website, or perform clerical tasks. MML’s 2010 Achievement Awards will honor successful volunteer programs that can be replicated in other cities and towns. Lifetime Achievement Award MML’s newly created Lifetime Achievement Award will recognize an elected or appointed city/town official who has demonstrated outstanding service to Maryland municipal government. Nominees can be current or former municipal officials. Municipal Employee of the Year Award MML’s City and Town Administrators Department is accepting nominations for the annual Roland B. Sweitzer Municipal Employee of the Year Award. Nominations for this prestigious award may be made by any MML member municipality. Nominees can be a current or former municipal employee. Town managers and administrators are not eligible. Only one nomination per municipality may be submitted. The deadline for nominations is March 12. More information about the Employee of the Year Award, including the nomination form, may be found at the following link, Municipal Employee of the Year Award |
