Educational Presentations Maryland Municipal Government Educational PowerPoint
MML is excited to offer members a new tool to enhance local efforts to introduce/educate Maryland citizens about the “government closest to the people”. This easy to use slideshow stands on its own as a presentation on the structure and operation of Maryland’s municipal government, but also gives member municipalities the flexibility to add information specific to a city or town. The new Power Point production could be especially useful during Municipal Government Month presentations or whenever you are asked to speak to a group or organization about city/town government in Maryland. We have included some helpful guidelines should you wish to insert some of your own material. Feel free to use any portion of the slideshow that is helpful to you. This is just another way that MML strives to be of assistance to our valued membership. If you have questions about how to use this PowerPoint, please e-mail Linda Burrell (lindab@mdmunicipal.org) at MML or call us at 410-268-5514 or 800-492-7121. Municipal Government Overview
This program is an adaptation of the PowerPoint program used at the chapter legislative dinners last fall and winter and provides some general information about Maryland municipal government and MML services. It will be useful to newly elected and appointed officials and serves as a “refresher” for those individuals who have held positions in municipal government for some time. This PowerPoint program can also be copied as a handout for participants. Several cities and town used the program with good results last fall and winter to orient newly hired municipal employees. For more information or to request a copy of the program via e-mail (Powerpoint required), contact Candace Donoho at League headquarters. Lobbying Your Legislator
This program covers the basics of lobbying your legislator and the structure of Maryland’s legislature. This program is in a PowerPoint format, approximately 15 minutes in length, and can be presented at a chapter meeting by a member of the MML staff. For more information or to request a presentation of the program at your meeting, contact Candace Donoho at League headquarters. |
