Highway User Revenue Reporting Requirement

In 2014 the General Assembly passed HB 1059, which requires that all counties and each eligible municipality that receives Highway User Revenues report on the use of those funds to the Administration and General Assembly.

Review a copy of the legislation

The reporting requirement is copied in full below and reports are due January 1, 2015 and every year thereafter. While the due date is January 1, DLS will accept reports submitted after that date. The reporting office is currently backlogged, and will be processing reports through January. Please make every effort to submit your report as soon as possible.

To assist in reporting, MML and DLS have developed a standard reporting sheet and contact list, which can be found here:

Reporting Sheet
Contact List

* For an Excel version of the Reporting Sheet, please email Tom Curtin at

We recognize that the Excel sheet provided by DLS does not allow for reporting of monies spent outside and above what was distributed as HURs. We suggest including any additional expenditures (as well as what could not be done) during FY 2014 and budgeted for FY 2015 below the report in the Excel sheet.

As soon as possible, please email AND send five HARD COPIES (per statute) of the attached report to:
