Message From the President, Kimberley A. Rau

To begin, I want to thank you for selecting me Clerk of the Year for 2009. This is truly an honor for which I am very grateful.

I attended my second-to-the-last Board of Directors Meeting on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Robertson Park Youth Center in Gaithersburg. During the meeting, the Board approved modifications to the Adopted 2009 MML Budget.

The MML Legislative Committee met for its final meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, to review the 2009 Legislative Session. Legislative requests for the 2010 legislative session may now be submitted to MML for consideration. The deadline for submission is June 26, 2009.

The 63rd Annual IIMC Conference is scheduled for May 18 – 23, 2009, in Chicago, Illinois. This will be my second IIMC Conference, and I am so looking forward to attending. There will be a few new faces in the Maryland contingent this year – Doug Barber and Jessie Carpenter. I hope Doug and Jessie enjoy the conference as much as I enjoyed my first. It is time for the Annual MML Convention in Ocean City. I hope to see many of you at our meeting on Monday, June 29. During this meeting, the officers for 2009-2010 will be swornin. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please let President-elect Doug Barber know. Remember, attending the MML Conventions/ Conferences and serving on a committee earns you points towards your CMC/ MMC!

In conclusion, thank you all for the opportunity to serve as president of this wonderful association.

Kimberley A. Rau, CMC, President
