Did You Miss Our Message?

If you find that you’re sometimes out of the MML loop, it may be that emails from us are getting caught in your spam filters or you unsubscribed from our database server. Typically emails that are sent via Microsoft Outlook will arrive safely in your inbox. However, periodically, the League sends messages via our database – Memberclicks. In that case, the email will come from a specific MML team member but is sent from an outside server:

We assure you, these emails are legitimate correspondence from someone at the League offices. We use the database server for emails that go to the full body and when sending to specific targeted lists (i.e. Clerks, Administrators, All Council Persons etc…) Please don’t unsubscribe from this list. If you do, we have no way of sending you key messages that are relevant to all of our members.
As always, MML respects your busy lives and understand that you receive many messages daily. However, we want to make sure that you’re kept updated on issues important to Maryland’s cities and towns, as well as services/programs designed to help you be an effective municipal official.

NEW! Academy Graduate Class Announced

Titled, “Negotiation, Government and Civility,” this one-day session will introduce participants to negotiation skills and strategies applicable to everyday governing situations. The format will be highly interactive, allowing participants to apply these concepts experientially.

MML Compensation Survey Update

Looking for comparison data as you assess salary and other compensation during the latest budget cycle? The Maryland Municipal League, in collaboration with Technology Net, LLC, is now entering its 9th year sponsoring a comprehensive, web-based compensation survey for its members. The MML compensation survey provides participating cities and towns with a powerful tool for comparing and assessing employee compensation data. The system allows municipalities to compare both salary and benefits data with other municipalities throughout Maryland as well as access to an additional mode containing compensation data from local governments in six other states, including Virginia. The cost to participate continues to be between $40 and $80 for most municipalities.

Last year, forty nine (49) MML member municipalities contributed to the compensation survey, and the League is hoping to further boost participation in 2018. If you'd like more information on how your municipality can join the Maryland Municipal League compensation survey, contact Tom Reynolds at or 410-295-9100.
