MML Keynote: Judson Laipply

Re-Imagining Summer Conference

MML's Summer Conference is going Virtual!  But they have a great program set up and are excited at all the possibilities having a conference online can bring.
The preliminary conference program was released this week.  Both the Keynote and Governor Hogan will still be participating along with plenty of other great learning and networking opportunities.  Make sure you and your town officials get registered!

Laytonsville's Patriotic Spirit

Laytonsville's Patriotic Spirit

For over ten years the Town of Laytonsville has placed U.S. Flags on the poles along its main streets in early May and they are proudly displayed until after Veterans Day.  This year, the Town decided to put the flags up early this year because of the Covid-19 crisis.  So in the middle of March, all of the flags were up and streaming.

Mayor Ruspi commented that when the winds become high, some of the flags unfortunately come down.  Earlier in April, a man came to Mayor Ruspi's front door with a fallen flag.  He told the Mayor, “I just couldn’t leave it on the ground.”  The man was not a resident of Laytonsville, but wanted to do a good deed.

Mayor Ruspi said that he gets many positive comments, verbally and in emails, thanking the Town for its United States spirit.  “Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave?”
