La Plata - Comprehensive Plan Update

The Town of La Plata is inviting proposals for professional consulting services to update the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, as part of the ten (10) year review cycle, as required by the State Land Use Article. Working with the Mayor and Town Council, the Town’s Planning Commission, the Town Manager, and residents of the Town, the consultant will prepare a new Comprehensive Plan for La Plata.

The final product will be a new Comprehensive Plan which satisfies the requirements of the Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland and is consistent with the Planning Act and Smart Growth principles and policies of the State. The new Comprehensive Plan shall contain, at a minimum, the elements required under the Land Use Article.

A pre-submittal meeting will be held on December 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at the La Plata Town Hall in order to answer questions and provide additional information. Anyone planning to submit a proposal must notify the Planning Department Staff to be added to the communication list for updates on questions and answers. Last day for questions is January 4, 2019, before 4:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time). Proposals will be accepted until 4:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on January 15, 2019.

The project will commence, be completed, and presented within a nine (9) to twelve (12) month timeframe. The Town anticipates the project beginning sixty (60) days from January 15, 2019. Completion of the project, including final presentation(s), should occur no later than December 2019. The Town Council has budgeted for consultant services for this project in fiscal year 2019. Emmitsburg – Storm Water Drain Excavation & Pipe Cleaning

The Mayor and Commissioners of Emmitsburg, Maryland are requesting bids from qualified individuals or companies for uncovering an existing storm water drain from under approximately two to four feet of dirt and cleaning the drain and connected storm water pipe from all debris. Five feet around the drain shall be sloped and covered with riprap stone.

Sealed proposals are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018. Proposals will not be accepted via email.  Please boldly note on sealed bids “Provincial Parkway Storm Sewer Bid, Do Not Open.”

Emmitsburg - Pool Management Services

The Mayor and Commissioners of Emmitsburg, Maryland are requesting sealed proposals from qualified pool management companies for labor and materials in regards to the operation and management of the Town’s Community Swimming Pool and Splash Pad. Sealed proposals must be received no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday January 9, 2019.

Bid documents are available at 300A South Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, MD 21727, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and on the town website.

Hampstead - Cleaning & Painting of Water Tower

The Town of Hampstead is seeking a contractor to provide reconditioning (exterior cleaning and painting) services of a 500,000 Gallon Welded Steel Elevated Hydropillar Water Storage Tank located at 3815 Hampstead-Mexico Road, accessible off of Panther Drive in Hampstead, Maryland. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing all the labor, materials, tools, equipment and services necessary to complete the project as defined in the scope of work.
The RFB may be obtained from the Town of Hampstead, 1034 South Carroll Street, Hampstead, Maryland 21074 for a non-refundable fee of $75.00.  Payment MUST be received before bid package can be picked up or sent out.

All prospective Contractors for this project are required to attend a Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Visit to familiarize themselves with existing conditions that may affect their bid pricing, performance and/or completion of the required work. This meeting will allow contractors to discuss the overall project, scope of work, present questions/concerns and visit the actual tank site.

The date for the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Visit is scheduled for:  Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.  The meeting will commence at the Town of Hampstead Office located at 1034 South Carroll Street, Hampstead, Maryland 21074.

Sealed bids will be accepted by the Town Manager at the Town Office located at 1034 South Carroll Street, Hampstead, Maryland 21074 until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at which time these bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the closing time or from contractors who did not attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 will be returned to the contractors unopened.
